CIA: Saudi Prince MBS ordered killing of Khashoggi

The Central Investigation Agency of United States has finally given its conclusion that the assassination of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul, was ordered by the Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. The conclusion is in stark contradiction to the one drawn out by the Saudi government which has denied his involvement.

US officials have expressed deep faith in the conclusions of CIA. Latter has however, made the path of President Donald Trump more difficult and will complicate his efforts to continue to maintain ties with the Arab nation.

There has been no official comment on the report by the White House as it has been labelled as an intelligence matter. No comments have been made by both the State Department and CIA.

Jamal Khashoggi was an eminent journalist and a columnist for Washington Post. He was killed by unknown assailants at the Saudi Consulate at Istanbul. He was a known critic of the Saudi government. Saudi Arabia had been denying any involvement in the incident till evidence was leaked by the Turkish authorities which pointed towards high-level involvement behind the murder. It was then, Riyadh had officially admitted the murder was carried out by its agents ofcourse backed by many controversial and contradictory statements.

Turkish government has maintained that the killing was intentional and has been urging the Saudi government to extradite those behind the same for a fair trial.
