Somalia: Powerful explosions and gunfire rock capital, 20 killed

In Somalian capital city of Mogadishu, atleast 20 people have been killed and 17 others badly injured as two car bombs went off followed by heavy gunfire in the capital near popular Sahafi Hotel and CID. The sky was filled with plumes of smoke which engulfed the scene.

Soon after a third explosion went off. The blasts just outside the hotel led to death of many people although the attackers were not able to assess the hotel. The total number of dead are not known as the rescuers continue to pull people out from burning cars. Many victims have received severe burn injuries and cannot be identified. Many people were also killed in the gunfire which followed the explosions.
