California bar shootout: 13 killed

In another deadly shootout in southern California, US 13 people including a sergeant of sheriff and a gunman were killed at Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks. The bar which is nearly 50kms from Los Angeles was crowded by college students. Geoff Dean, Ventura County Sheriff has told the media that 10 more people were wounded in the incident. Dean said the scene was horrible as there was blood all around.

As per the website of the bar, it hosts College Country Night on every night on each Wednesday. The police has stated that hundreds were in the bar at the time of shooting. There were mostly college students in the bar before the gunman broke in and opened fire. The gunman made use of an automatic weapon and also threw smoke bombs towards the crowd. As per the police, nearly 30 shots were fired.

Many people managed to escape through the windows. People were helping women out to save them.

Emergency teams and other law enforcement agencies were at the scene for help and further investigations.
