Afghanistan: Taliban kidnap dozens from North

Taliban militants continuing their spate of attacks on civilians and security personnel in Afghanistan have kidnapped many dozens of people from the three buses in Kunduz province, in northern part of the country.

The incident took place on Monday morning as three buses carrying passengers were coming to Kabul from the Takhar province. The Taliban fighters stopped the buses and passengers were asked to step out from where they were taken to an unknown location.

The incident has taken place despite the call for ceasefire by the Afghan President on the holy occasion of Eid al-Adha. Taliban had not accepted the latter or given any comments on the same but had stated that they will be releasing hundreds of prisoners on Eid. The incident is just contrary to the latter and has raised concerns with the authorities.
