US ambassador to UN Nikki Haley has categorically warned Syria US forces stand “locked and loaded” if the Syrian government uses chemical weapons. The statement has come just a few hours after 100 bombs were dropped on highly targeted facilities which completely dismantled the Syrian regime’s chemical weapons production units. She stated that the President of United States not only draws a red line but also enforces it.

The US has punished the Syrian government for its alleged atrocities on its own citizens by use of banned weapons on innocents. The attacks are not a revenge but a deterrence for future. Vassily Nebenzia the Russian ambassador to UN has urged the world body to condemn the attacks and take a principled stand on the crisis which is unfolding. The Resolution forwarded by Russia was backed by on Russia, China and Bolivia with 8 nations voted against its passage. Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Equatorial Guinea and Peru refrained from voting. Russia labelled the strikes as against international law and called it a sad day for UN charter.
