Spy Poisoning: UK-Russia blame game continues

The Spy poisoning row between Russia and Britain is getting murkier as both the sides are exchanging accusations. Britain has held Russia responsible for a nerve agent attack on the former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury. The attack was carried out by a military grade nerve agent Novichok class which was developed by the Soviet Union in the 1970s.

Sharp allegations were exchanged between Russian and British diplomats at an event of Russian Foreign Ministry at Moscow. The event was also broadcast by Russian State Television. Both sides have expelled diplomats as the ties plunged to new lows post-Cold War.

Russia has denied allegations completely and in fact, has blamed Britain for orchestrating the attack and also developing the nerve agent in Britain itself. Russia has stated that it will cooperate in the investigations. France and US have also unanimously asked Britain to take tough action against Russia. EU has also come to support Britain and has asked Russia to explain its position.
