North Korea to stop nuclear weapons tests: a new dawn

In a breaking statement, the top security advisor of South Korea Chung Eui-Yong has stated after a high-level meeting between the South Korean envoy and the top leaders of North Korea including Kim Jong Un, during their visit to the North, that North Korea has agreed to stop all nuclear tests if the security of the nation is guaranteed. In addition, Kim Jong Un and Moon Jae-in will also hold a summit in April at Panmunjom-the joint security area between the two nations. The summit will be a watershed event in the bilateral relations and expected to bring calm to the Korean peninsula.

Chung Eui-Yong said, “The North side clearly affirmed its commitment to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and said it would have no reason to possess nuclear weapons should the safety of its regime be guaranteed and military threats against North Korea removed,”.
